Every dollar raised by the club goes back to the Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates communities to support our ongoing philanthropic initiatives. The Rotary Club of Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered nonprofit organization that funds and supports non-sectarian services, is comprised of 72 members dedicated to improving the lives of people in need. All event planning and logistics, as well as club administration, are handled by our hard-working volunteer members, and no money is paid out for these services.
The Rotary Club of Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates was chartered in 1969 and its charitable foundation was formed some years later. Our organizations, in tandem, continue to work throughout the community. Through community service, we carry out sustainable educational, humanitarian, and vocational projects. The positive impact of our fund-raising efforts and hands-on activities include:
Education--through vocational service, we enhance educational opportunities and training through mentors, role models, and vocational and scholastic assistance. We award $25,000 annually in scholarships to students from area high schools and adults returning to school. Additionally, we support social service organizations such as Children’s Home + Aid Society, GiGi’s Playhouse, and Center for Health Services.
Children & Families—we reach underserved children, families, and seniors throughout our community through a variety of programs and initiatives such as Tools for Success, District 54 Food Pantries, Hawk’s Nest, Blessings in a Backpack, Shop with a Cop, Senior Nutrition Program, Coat Drive, and micro loans. Organizations supported include WINGS, NWSRA, Children’s Advocacy Center, and Kenneth Young Center.
